1st Hole
402 Yards, Par 4
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 1
A straight drive, preferably to the right side of the fairway and the golfer is set up for a second shot down a slope and away from a bunker guarding the right front of the green. Miss the fairway left or right and par is difficult.
|
2nd Hole
145 yards, Par 3
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 2
2nd Green
A downhill tee shot to a steeply banked green with bunkers left and right - the prevailing wind can also add a dimension. Stay straight and the hole is not difficult - go left or right and a bogey or worse may result |
3rd Hole
364 Yards, Par 4
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 3

The drive is uphill and a good shot will be rewarded with a straight shot into the green. Miss the fairway and trees come into play. Two bunkers left and right are awaiting the miss-hit shot.

4th Hole 457
Yards Par 4
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 4

4th Green
A long challenging hole with the fairway sloping from left to right. A good drive will be rewarded with a medium iron to the green but the shorter hitter will likely need to get up and down to make par.
|
5th Hole
478 Yards Par 5
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 5

Drive from an elevated tee, over a bank to a flat fairway. From a good drive, the long hitter can make the green in two with the prospect of birdie or eagle. For the average golfer, it is also not a difficult Par 5 from the fairway but there are plenty of trees to cause problems for the errant shot.
|
6th Hole
145 Yards Par 3
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 6

The second short Par 3 featuring a green with steep slopes and bunkers left and right. Stay straight and be rewarded.
|
7th Hole
440 Yards Par 4
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 7
7th Green looking back down Fairway
The stroke index 1 hole. It has everything - dog left left, a fairway that slopes right to left, out of bounds down the left side, trees and an undulating green. Take on the risks on the left and be rewarded with the best approach shot up the line of the green from the left side of the fairway. Reduce the risk by playing for the right side of the fairway and the approach becomes more difficult. Wind above the trees on the left may also complicate matters and if that is not enough, the undulating green serves up its share of 3 putts. |
8th Hole
177 Yards Par 3
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 8
8th Green
Wind is often a factor on this medium length Par 3. The green is elevated and hevily bunkered. |
9th Hole
544 Yards Par 5
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 9

The longest hole on the course. A long straight undulating fairway (the result of limestone mining) provides few flat lies. The golfer then faces a green that slopes from back to front and has trouble all around, so the longest hitters are faced with a classic risk and reward decision. Make the green in the wrong place and a 3 putt may result.
|
10th Hole
198 Yards Par 3
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 10
A new hole introduced in 2003 that requires an accurate tee shot to avoid trees left and right and a bunker on the left. Make the green and some good putting will still be necessary on a severely undulating green to avoid a 3 putt.
|
11th Hole
433 Yards Par 4
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 11
Another hole that was introduced in 2003 incorporates part of the old practice ground and the green of the old 10th to make a first class Par 4. From a long drive, the golfer will need a medium iron to a green that is surrounded with trouble. For the shorted hitter, the sensible route is to play it as a Par 5. On a historical note, the dip in front of the green is the route of the road that ran down the hill for carts transporting the lime.
|
12th Hole
358 Yards Par 4
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 12
A new green was built in 2007, extending the hole by 46 yards. A long drive will be rewarded with a medium iron to the green off an undulating fairway but shorter hitters may be looking at playing the hole as a par 5. One bunker on the left front of the green. |
13th Hole
505 Yards Par 5
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 13
A straight drive is needed to avoid trees left and right. The second shot is likely to be from a sloping lie and there is severe trouble left and right for the slice or hook. A bunker on the front right of the green catches many.
|
14th Hole
233 Yards Par 3
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 14
One of the best holes on the course. Out of bounds down the left side, a large oak protecting the left side of the green and a 20 foot dip down the right focus the golfer's mind. Par will feel very good and bogey is no disgrace.
|
15th Hole
285 Yards Par 4
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 15

15th Hole looking back from the Green
The green is in range on this short dog leg left but only for the best golfers. A fairway wood or iron to the apex of the dog leg rewards with a flat lie for the second shot otherwise it will be from another severely undulating fairway. Make the green in the wrong place and some good putting will be necessary to avoid a 3 putt. |
16th Hole
152 Yards Par 3
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 16
Redesigned in 2004 and 2005, this Par 3 has out of bounds down the left and new bunkers on the right and long. Not a difficult hole in calm conditions but if the wind blows, the golfer could easily be reloading on the tee.
|
17th Hole
429 Yards Par 4
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 17
Approach to 17th Green
The most difficult hole on the course. The drive is down hill to the apex of a dog leg but the slope from right to left or a hook can easily put the ball in the ponds on the corner. Big hitters can cut the corner by going over the woods but it is high risk. The approach shot is uphill on a fairway that will take the ball to the left. Aim right and a bunker on the front right of the green comes into play. Par is excellent and bogey is good.
|
18th Hole
311 Yards Par 4
>> COURSE MAP - HOLE 18
18th Green
Out of bounds left and a severe slope to the right make this a good driving hole. Drive left and the golfer will face an approach shot downhill that requires skill to stop the ball on the green. Drive right into the light rough and the approach to the green is better but a bunker complicates the shot. The green is deceptively steep and many a card has been spoilt by a 3 putt to finish.
